Delete Your ASSG App Account

This page explains how to delete the account you created in the ASSG app, published by Deutsch-Syrische Forschungsstiftung e.V.

Deleting Your Account in the App

The fastest way is from inside the app:

  1. Open the ASSG app and make sure you are signed in.
  2. Go to More → My profile.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete my account.
  4. Confirm when asked.

Deletion happens immediately. You do not need to contact us.

Deleting Your Account by Email

If you no longer have the app installed, or cannot sign in, write to us at assg@ds-fg.com from the email address you used in the app, with the subject line Delete my ASSG account.

We will delete the account and confirm by reply. Please allow up to 30 days, as required under Art. 12(3) GDPR, although in practice this is usually done within a few working days.

What Is Deleted

Deleting your account permanently removes:

  • your profile — name, position, affiliation, city, country, biography, research interests and any professional links you added;
  • your email address and your sign-in credentials;
  • your entry in the participant list, if you had made yourself visible;
  • the sessions you saved to your personal schedule;
  • your notification settings and any device push tokens.

This cannot be undone. If you use the app again afterwards, you will start with an empty profile.

What Is Not Deleted

Some records exist independently of your app account and are unaffected:

  • Your conference registration. Registration and payment are handled separately from the app. If you also want your registration removed, say so in your email — but note that we may be required to retain invoices and payment records for up to ten years under German commercial and tax law (§ 147 AO, § 257 HGB).
  • Content published by the organisers. If you appear in the app as a speaker or committee member, that entry is part of the conference programme rather than your personal account, and is not removed by deleting your account. Contact us if you would like it changed or taken down.
  • DSFG membership and other foundation records, which are separate from the app.

Downloading Your Data First

If you would like a copy of your data before deleting it, open the app and go to More → Settings → Download my data. You can also request a copy from assg@ds-fg.com at any time, under Art. 15 GDPR.
