Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU)

The Brandenburg University of Technology (BTU) is located 120 km from the German capital Berlin and is the largest university of applied sciences in the state of Brandenburg.
The efforts of its young researchers are focused on tackling current global challenges in the fields of energy, cybernetic systems, bioengineering, environment, and health, among others.
The university offers more than 70 Bachelor’s, Master’s, and doctoral programs, as well as international programs.
With 26 percent international students and a total of 7,600 students annually, students acquire their knowledge in a friendly and diverse environment.

Promoting young talent

The BTU sees its primary task as supporting and encouraging young scientists and providing them with the necessary support to conduct their research in an excellent manner.
In addition, the Research Funding Department supports young researchers (doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers) at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg by providing third-party funding for their research projects, advising on the selection of suitable funding programs and organizations, and providing administrative support.
Preference will be given to applications submitted to the German Research Foundation (DFG) and the European Commission (Horizon 2020).

Support for foreign researchers

BTU offers a limited number of scholarships for international students, which are completely tuition-free.
The majority of studies are tuition-free, so there are only a limited number of scholarship opportunities for international students. The International Relations Office is pleased to award a limited number of scholarships to international students at BTU.

Transport office

These include opportunities to collaborate with academic professionals, business research collaborations, entrepreneurship, and the practical implementation of research projects. BTU also works to connect science and society.
