The Technical University of Rhineland-Palatinate (RPTU) has over 20,000 students, over 300 professors, and around 160 degree programs.
The university was formed on January 1, 2023, from the merger of the Technical University of Kaiserslautern and the University of Landau.
It combines expertise in engineering and natural sciences with a focus on social sciences.
The RPTU is responsible for making scientific contributions in the fields of sustainability, education, and digitalization.
The university also has strong financial power and a diverse project portfolio.
The university comprises seven research centers and institutes in numerous disciplines, including Artificial Intelligence, Engineering Sciences, Technomathematics, the Institute for Film Analysis, the Institute for Technology Research, the Institute for Composite Materials, and the Max Planck Institute for Software Systems.

Promoting young talent

The university supports young scientists through participation in university sports and provides sports facilities.
In addition to supporting the university’s research by providing research funds and advising and supporting researchers through the research office, the university library offers financial support as well as assistance in areas of academic publishing, such as journal consulting, documentation, and advice on avoiding plagiarism.

The university also offers research projects to support researchers: ERC grants, IP-integrated projects, and Marie Curie grants.
