The First Arab Science Symposium: Catalyzing Scientific Synergies

“ It is important to connect, network, talk to each other and plan our future together. This symposium is the first block on that road.”

– Dr. Hani Harb,  President of the German-Syrian Association for Scientific Research.

In its ongoing mission to bridge the Arab and German scientific communities, the German-Syrian Association for Scientific Research (DSFG) proudly presents the Arab Scientific Symposium in Germany. This historic event took place on September 21st, 2024, at the Hannover Congress Centrum.

This symposium is just one more manifestation of the commitment of DSFG to develop a dynamic and collaborative scientific environment in which active involvement and exchange of knowledge and research can take place between the two regions, leading to new collaborations.

This unique symposium offers the following:

  • Be able to make unparalleled networking with leading scientists and researchers from Germany and across the Arab World.
  • A dynamic platform for knowledge and insight exchange in a wide scope of scientific areas.
  • A springboard for the directions and ways of collaboration, including meaningful joint research projects.
  • A place of inspiration to nurture the next generation of scientific minds, shaping them into a bright future.

The symposium program provides the following enrichment:

  • Lively panel discussions about key issues and challenges faced by Arab researchers working in Germany.
  • Specialty workshops on several important topics, including best practices in research mentorship, amplifying women’s impact in the STEM fields, and leveraging computer science and artificial intelligence.
  • Targeted networking sessions to establish meaningful professional relationships and future collaborations.

The symposium is privileged to welcome such an esteemed lineup of speakers, including:

  • Professor Paul Hoyningen-Huene: Discussing philosophy of science, its impact, and how deeply it influences knowledge development.
