The German-Syrian Research Society (DSFG)

We at the German-Syrian Research Foundation are looking to expand our Scientific Exchange Program Team as we prepare to take our work to the next level. For this purpose, we are looking for an:

Executive Coordinator, Volunteering (non-paid), 4-6 Hours weekly

Our Foundation is 100% volunteers, we believe in volunteering next to our regular jobs. Research is our trade and openness is our way of supporting the scientific society. Core Requirements:

An Executive Coordinator at the German-Syrian Research Foundation is expected to have the following Capabilities:

  • Must be currently residing in Germany
  • University degree (any field, scientific or administrative background preferred)
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively in both German and English (written and verbal)
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection for remote coordination and communication
  • Fast response times and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Skills Requirements:

  • Strong organizational and coordination skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Proficiency in using common digital tools (email, calendar management, messaging platforms, Google Workspace or MS Office)
  • High level of responsiveness and accountability
  • Ability to collaborate with different internal teams (media, workshops, etc)
  • Familiarity with academic or scientific environments is a plus



Responsibilities:

As an Executive Coordinator at the German-Syrian Research Foundation you will be in charge of the followings:

 

  • Coordinate between guest lecturers and universities to schedule and confirm workshops or events
  • Act as the primary contact for lecturers regarding logistical and administrative needs
  • Liaise with the internal media team to prepare workshop announcement designs and promotional materials
  • Follow up on team deliverables, especially tasks that are cross-functional (e.g., coordination between workshops and media teams)
  • Ensure timely and smooth internal communication to keep all parties updated
  • Monitor and assist in workflow timelines to meet event deadlines
  • Provide general support for the Scientific Exchange Team’s planning and execution of initiatives
