DSFG Course - Basics of Medical Research

Introduction:​

This training course is planned and implemented in a joint cooperation between DSFG, SGMA, and other researchers from Syria, and is aiming to empower higher education studients to implement their academic research.

Course Objectives:

By the end of this course, the participants will be able to:

  • Understand the significance of medical research and its impact on healthcare.
  • Develop a critical analytical approach for evaluating medical information.
  • Differentiate between various types of medical research.
  • Formulate clear research questions, hypotheses, aims, and objectives.
  • Apply the principles of evidence-based medicine.
  • Select appropriate study designs for specific research questions.
  • Generate research ideas and conduct effective literature searches.
  • Develop a basic research proposal.
  • Perform introductory statistical analyses relevant to medical research.
  • Understand the emerging role of artificial intelligence (AI) in medical research and data analysis.
  • Acquire basic skills in writing scientific papers for journals and conferences.
  • Understand how to structure and submit a well-documented medical case report.

Targeted Audience:

The course is designed for higher education students, and researchers in the medical fields, living and working in Syria.
