Social Media Executive
Volunteering (non-paid),4-6 Hours weekly

Core Requirements:

An Social Media Executive at the German-Syrian Research Foundation is expected to have the following Capabilities:

  • Must be a student or a recent graduate (within the past 2 years) from Digital Marketing, Marketing, Advertising, Audio-Visual Media, Communications, or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in social media management.
  • Proven track record managing social media for at least 3 businesses or organizations (portfolio or references required).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in Arabic and a good command of English.
  • Available to attend regular meetings with the Media team.

 

Skills Requirements:
  • Deep understanding of major social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Familiarity with trends, algorithms, and best practices for optimizing engagement and reach.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in scheduling tools (e.g., Buffer, Hootsuite, Meta Business Suite).
  • Experience with ad campaign management and content boosting.
  • Basic graphic design and video editing skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut) are a plus.
  • Ability to analyze metrics and derive actionable insights for performance improvement.
  • Comfortable engaging with influencers, partners, and online communities.

 

Responsibilities:

as a Social Media Executive Coordinator, you will oversee, plan and evaluate the following whereas execution will be handed over to the marketing team:

  • Collaborate with Media Managers and volunteers to gather stories, photos, and videos for content creation.
  • Plan, create, and publish engaging content including reels, graphics, videos, and stories that reflect the foundation’s mission.
  • Develop and maintain a content calendar and strategic posting schedule.
  • Upload and schedule daily posts and stories across multiple platforms.
  • Monitor audience interactions and respond promptly to comments, messages, and inquiries.
  • Analyze performance metrics and report regularly with insights and recommendations.
  • Support coordination of digital content across channels and participate in editorial meetings.
  • Run and optimize paid social media campaigns to boost reach and engagement.
  • Ensure that all published content aligns with brand values and communication strategy.
  • Collaborate with the broader media and communications team to ensure cohesive messaging.
  • Engage with relevant influencers, partners, and community pages to expand reach.
