“In short, amazing,” said Hussain Moatouq, a Datacamp scholarship recipient. “What I like about it is that experts in the field design the courses, know what is useful and what you will use in real-world scenarios, and introduce you to all the tools you need.”
After intensive preparation and selecting 45 students for the program, efforts shifted to preparing them to maximize their experience with Datacamp. The workshop team organized a two-hour introductory session led by Adeeb Khoja, a team member, who helped students understand how the platform and educational program work.
The session began with a comprehensive overview of the DSFG team and its activities, focusing on specific objectives. Participants then introduced themselves and shared their personal goals for learning data skills. All participants demonstrated enthusiasm and a strong commitment to embarking on an exciting learning journey. The session emphasized the flexibility of the educational program, highlighting how it can accommodate different learning styles and allow each participant to learn at their own pace.
A key part of the workshop included a detailed explanation of basic data science concepts and the key tools and techniques students would encounter in Datacamp courses. The team tailored this explanation to suit the diverse interests and backgrounds of the participants, ensuring a thorough understanding of the importance of data across various industries and career fields. The workshop concluded with a hands-on demonstration, where new students explored the platform, reviewed different course paths, and learned how to customize their personal learning experience on Datacamp.
“It’s an invaluable opportunity at Datacamp because you can apply what you learn directly. The courses are short and to the point with clear examples. I am grateful for the opportunity that DSFG has given me,” said Ahmed Dawara, another Datacamp scholarship recipient.
